Calling all the ladies! Since 2011, Colleen's all-women's workshops have helped inspire photographic growth, personal development, wanderlust, and life-long friendships. And Sheography™ aims to continue that, to help women of all ages, backgrounds, and photographic skill become "the woman you were meant to be through the art of photography and adventure."

Join Colleen and other Sheographers™ for an exciting women’s-only weekend photography adventure at Watson Lake near Prescott, AZ. While exploring this lesser-known wonderland of jumbo rocks and tranquil waters through your camera, you’ll have the chance to practice your photographic skills, exchange ideas with like-minded women, and let your imagination run wild.

The workshop will start with introductions and orientation Friday evening. We'll follow up with a welcome dinner to fuel up for our early morning wake-up call on Saturday to photograph along the shores of Watson Lake. We'll return to the classroom to review processing techniques to help us polish our visual expressions, then head back to different locations around Watson Lake for more photographic explorations on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. To wrap up the workshop, Colleen will facilitate an interactive critique session with the group to celebrate your individual vision and leave you with a brain full of new ideas as you head home.

In an learning-intensive, supportive, and small group setting, where pushing yourself to try new things will be encouraged, attendees will learn how to:

And you’ll have a blast doing so! Ladies will have the chance to ask questions, experiment, and get immediate feedback through a blend of classroom, field-based, and image review sessions.

Physical Requirements: Best suited for mobile, sure-footed participants who are capable of hiking up to three-miles roundtrip on relatively flat terrain while carrying their gear. Opportunities exist for spry mountain goats to scramble on the granite rocks for off-the-beaten path views, but participants will not be required to do so and can choose their own adventure based on their own interests and comfort level.

Testimonials From Previous Attendees:

"Can't remember ever having so much fun at a workshop. Colleen was great and provided plenty of one on one time. Always there to answer all questions. Her enthusiasm is infectious and I can't wait for the next opportunity to apply what I learned. Colleen knows how to really make learning fun. Yes, yes, yes!"

"Colleen was recommended to me by another photographer. I was drawn to the women-only format and a location close to our seasonal home. Her technical knowledge was very helpful and the location perfect to practice what we had learned. From start to finish, the workshop was well run, with all the details taken care of. I would highly recommend."

Lois J., 2019 Watson Lake Sheographer

"I chose this workshop first because being in Arizona and not Iowa in January is a great idea, second because friend going and because Colleen's description of event and her immediate responses to our questions was a great sign. Oh, and the idea of all women on such a retreat was totally intriguing. It was clear that Colleen has groupies - everyone else knew her from several workshops and it was obvious why they kept going: very fun, good location, good advice and good chocolate. The location was new to me and lovely and I love lots of my photos!"

"If you are a woman interested in photography, fascinating places to visit, a great outdoor experience, quality technical instruction and support and making new friends, this is the place for you!"

Mary G., 2019 Watson Lake Sheographer

"Each time I go, I learn at least two things that STICK with me in future photography. Each time I'm understanding the camera technology better and don't have to stress as much so my camera can work better for me. Pretty good combo!"

Angela R., 2019 Watson Lake Sheographer
